Freeze in energy bills expected from new Prime Minister
A stop on energy bills is one of various choices for handling the taking off cost of gas and power due to be introduced to the new top state leader this week. BBC News has been informed a menu of choices has been stirred up in Whitehall to help battling families. Energy industry sources are hopeful the public authority will back an arrangement to freeze the energy cap. Either Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss will be declared as the new PM sometime in the afternoon. Ms Truss' group is perceived to have been dealing with a help bundle for energy bills "for a really long time" and a declaration on what they will do is planned for this Thursday. "Heaps of measures have been thought of, some have advanced and some poor person" a source said. Her group don't deny they could present a stop on energy bills.
